Hi Brian,

If your comfortable with administrating unix systems then I recommend you go with Linux or Solaris, both are excellent OS'es.

At work I've used Oracle on Unix and NT boxes and the unix versions blow NT out of the water performance wise.

I use Linux Oracle myself at work and have had no problems. Of course if you go with Linux you don't have to spend a couple thousand on a solaris license.
