Setup tns or drop the "@db" (just be sure to set up ORACLE_SID=db in the environment)

Have you checked the Oracle on Linux HOW-TO?

Don't blame Linux or Oracle btw - Just look at the thing sitting 30cm from the screen ;-) ha ha!
