oracle installation

I have installed oracle 8.0.5 client on my laptop under windows nt 4.0
(sp3).

After I want do create a database with net8 easy config and want test the database with system (name) and manager (password) i will get the following error:

connect is running.....

The test failed.
ORA-12203: TNS: connect to the aim is not possible.

Maybe the inserted fields include an error or the server is not ready for the connection. you can ceck the server and try it again or go on with your work.

Also when i want to start the oracle server with svrmgr30 and connect with connect internal as sysdba and inserted the password oracle i get the error:
ORA-12203: TNS: connection to the aim is not possible.

under service i have started the following oracle services: oracleclientcache and oraclewebassistant.

Maybe i must start further services or start an other programm. I hope somebody can help me there.

Or must i install the oracle server!

Eventuell enthalten die eingegebenen Felder einen Fehler, oder der Server ist nicht f?r den Verbindungsaufbau bereit. Sie k?nnen den Server ?berpr?fen und den Versuch wiederholen oder Ihre Arbeit fortsetzen.

Auch wenn ich den oracle server svrmgr30 start und mit connect internal as sysdba verbinde bekomme ich die meldung: ORA-12203: TNS:Verbindung zum Ziel nicht möglich.

Ich habe folgende Oracle Dienste gestartet: oracleclientcache und oraclewebassistant.

Vielleicht muss ich da noch einen weiteren dienst starten bzw. ein weiteres programm starten.

Oder muss ich den oracle server installieren.
