I entered all this. I entered a left-parens after the "create table SECCION" which I assume you did otherwise the table wouldn't be created in the first place (you *DID* include the left-parens, right?). The next 2 lines (the insert and update) worked fine except that the update returned 0 rows updated since the inserted row had a different key value.

Since idprograma references another table, I assume you are not failing on a "parent key not found error".

Copy and past the ASP code and the error message and post them. That may help.
