Re: Installation Problem of Oracle 8i R2 8.1.6 in Linux

I've had this experience too. The only way I've found to work is to:

• login as oracle
• run svrmgrl
• connect internal
• startup

By the way, there is now version 8.1.6.1 but since I haven't tried it so I can't tell if it has fixed that problem.
