Oracle Rdb (note the difference) started as Dec Rdb, the RDBMS on Decs Vax/VMS. It was bought by Oracle a few years ago. No doubt it will disappear somewhere in the future.
The case statement in Oracle SQL is decode. Consult your manual for further details.
