        I think it depends on how you learn. If you feel that you learn best in a classroom situation (as opposed to CBTs or reading) and you can afford
it why not?

        On the other hand, if you are able to pick up new technical areas from
books and CBTs you can save a bundle. One thing you might try before signing
up for a class is to get a copy of Oracle for Linux or Windows, a book like
Special Edition using Oracle or Oracle Unleashed and gain some familiarity
with Oracle. Then pick up a copy of Oracle DBA 101 by Theriault, Carmichael,
and Viscusi.

        Of course if money is no object and you have the time to spare Oracle education has a sale on all the training you need to learn enough
to pass your OCP - if I remember correctly it's $10K for 10 weeks.
