OAS stopping from time to time

Hi,

We've got a OAS 8.0.4.1 with a PLSQL-cartridge running on Linux (and a 8i on Solaris). Every few hours the OAS stops working, and doesn't accept any more requests. Sometimes it isn't even possible to restart it with owsctl -reload, and sometimes even restarting the computer doesn't help for a quarter or half an hour, then suddenly it works again. Happens on different machines under NT and Linux.

It looks a little bit like it can't get any more connections to the database (we think so because we tried everything on the OAS and nothing helps. IT's got lots of resources free and is working fine most of the time). We suspect an error in the connection between OAS and database.

  1. I am new to oracle databases. Where are the logfiles to be found?
  2. Anyone with a similar problem? Any help is VERY welcome.
  3. No, it is NOT the wrksf-problem known on Linux.

Thanks a lot,

negg.
