The thing is that i am running server manager in a command line, so whenever i try to use the connect command it only asks me about the userid and password but how can i set the service or the sid so it knows where i am trying to connect. i am running oracle 8 and i didnt installed the gui version of server manager so i am only using the command line, and thats where the problem is.

appreciate your help

thanks
