Problems with Microsoft Interdev and Oracle 8

I'm running Interdev 8.4.26 and the ASP page I'm using accesses an Oracle 8 
database. I have Oracle Client 8.1.5 installed on my machine.  When I try 
to click on the database icon in Interdev I get and Illegal Operation 
message and Interdev shuts down.  Any thoughts?
