Oracle 8i with Java Support

I want to order Oracle 8i for both Linux and Windows 2000. I want to communicate with the database from my Java programs. Is the standard version from Oracle enough? Do I need the so called JDeveloper from Oracle which is very expensive? Will the JDeveloper help improve the performance (very import for me)?

The cost for the software I found from Oracle web page:

        Oracle 8i for Windows     $40
                              Linux            $40
        License $160

Does anyone know if I can have a better price from somewhere else?
