Hi!

i'm learing Oracle and i have a question. How do I make a database and an instance a default one.
everytime i log onto UNIX, it starts an instance but i want my instance to be the default one.
i changed the ORACLE_SID but it stays only for that particular session. next time i start another session (telnet into unix), it starts the original instance.

can someone please help me?!

thanks a bunch!
