linking to an excel spreadsheet

i'm linking to an excel spreadsheet with access 97, and i get the following
results:



  the linked table shows #num!  where there is a number, shows 0 where there
is 0.  help!!





I think that the spreadsheet was created from an oracle database.





any ideas?  does a different datatype need to be specified?
