The silent install was made for computers without monitors. Oracle has not addressed the "adhoc" non-interactive install.

Although I can't find it in the documentation right now, O8i may be non-interactively installed by a Microsoft installation product. The NT specialist that I work with told me he considerred the configuration time worthwhile if we would've been installing more than 100 hundred servers.

We elected to assist the non-DBA, interactive install to 60 servers with screen shots. Ask me in four months how THAT went.

I work most often in the UNIX environment, but I know that the main issue with an uninstall of Oracle is to remove the registry settings. It must be possible to script the removal of those registry settings and then blow away the Oracle directories. No!?
