Have you tried writing direct to companies? I used to interview people for EDS
(I no longer work for them), and we interviewed all sorts of people for general
recruitment rather than only recruiting people for specific vacancies.

Of course, you may not have been offered the same salary as you might feel that you are due given your long experience in IT, but you could very well have been offerred a job.

There are several large computer companies in the UK: EDS, Andersens, CMG, Cap Gemini etc. Try writing to them directly enclosing your CV.

You probably have an advantage in already being based in London, because no-one in their right mind wants to move their (because of house prices).
