Actually not running SQL*Plus but EmbeddedSQL in Powerbuilder. Even so, this gave me all the info I needed, many thanks. I was suprised I did not find any reference to it by searching the Oracle documentation, a new Oracle Press DBA handbook, all the popular web tutorials etc. Is this something ODBAs get with their mothers milk?
