You may want to look at ESRI's (www.esri.com) Spatial Database Engine (SDE). It supports the ORACLE format and you can connect to SDE with AutoCAD, microstation, and a whole host of ESRI products.

We use it where I work and it is pretty cool. Although, it is a bit pricey.
