Do you know any SQL? That's where I would start... login to SQLPlus as scott/tiger and start learning how to manipulate the data. Plus, as scott/tiger, you have access to all of the dba_views and the user_views, but not the hazard of being logged in as system. Try getting the book 'Learning Oracle8 in 21 days'. That's my 2cents.
