installation problems

I'm having problems installing oracle 8i for solaris.

This is my problem
I get errors when the ./runInstaller starts doing the linking after the installation.
I basically get this error.
"Error in invoking target install"
"/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6/sqlplus/lib/ins_sqlplus.mk"

I then chose to ignore the error and then got the same error for this file.
"/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6/network/lib/in_net_client.mk"

someone please help, this is really urgent, and this is my first time installing oracle on any platform.
