Pro*C forking a new process question

Hello all,

I hope that this is the correct forum for this question ...

It seems that some times, when SQLCTX is called ... a new process is forked.

Can anybody enlighten me as to what is happening here?

The situation is that I am developing a Pro*C application using Sun Workshop 4.2 and occasionally whilst debugging, SQLCTX forks another process which can not be connected to and followed. The parent process then ends.

As this does not happen all the time, I am assuming that there is some criteria that causes this to happen.

Can anybody help me with this?

Thanks in advance ...
