Hi Wil,
  do you also close the resultset?

try {

      Statement s = con.createStatement();
      ResultStatement rs = s.executeQuery("select ....");

      while (rs.next()) {
        //process the answers
     }
      rs.close;
      s.close;

}
catch (SQLException e) {}
...
