I wasn't successful in using dbassist to create a database. I followed the howto-homepage that explained how to create a database using the crdb[123].sh scripts. That seemed to work for me. After that, I ran the script to install PL/SQL, then installed WebDB (with much pain) and finally - now, I'm running and pretty happy :).

This is all on RedHat 6.1 with Oracle 8i (with both patches).
