It's also a question how important this database is and how many traffic it'll have to. If it is *real* mission-critical, you better use UNIX (IBM, HP, Solaris - why don't use SCO Open Server Rel. 5 ? It works very stable on those cheap Intel-Platforms).
Easy maintaince is no argument. Once installed, nearly everything in Oracle is manageable from the Enterprise Manager. I 'm dba myself, and I think I've found the easiest, fastest and cheapest way: Server on SCO-UNIX, Admin-Tools on NT-Workstation, everybody will be happy ;-)
