Error: No more data to read from socket

Hi,

I'm using a simple "DriverManager.getConnection()" and "Connection.close ()" in a servlet using driver "jdbc:oracle:thin". After a while I get the error "No more data to read from socket".

Does anybody know what causes this error?

A slightly off track question: is there a known problem with using connection pools with Oracle 7.3?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
- Nitin
