Oracle 8i Lite: a couple of questions

Hi,
I asked these questions on a different Oracle newsgroup, but did not get a response, so I'll try again.

I have never used Oracle in any form, but I want to 'begin' to learn. I would be working on a stand-alone pc, Pentium II-450, plenty of disk space.

Oracle's website describes 8i Lite as a stand-alone database, but I need to know the following...

  1. Is 8i Lite designed to run under Win 98, or is it Unix only?
  2. Is 8i Lite really a stand-alone database, or is there more to the story than that? It doesn't support PL/SQL, does it?
  3. If the answers to the above are negative, is there an SQL database that is designed to run under Win98 (not NT)? I know that Access and FoxPro support and use SQL, but I am searching for an 'SQL-only' database. (Note: MySQL supports NT, mSQL supports Unix)

Thanks in advance for some direction.
