I have installed Oracle 8i on Linux; the database proper works fine, including a normal Net8 configuration.
How do I configure Net8 to be able to use EJB and CORBA as implemented in 8i?
Also, connecting using sqlplus with a @databasename specifier works using tnsnames.ora as
GEMI =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = scriabin)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = gemi)
)
)
but not with
GEMI =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = scriabin)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = gemi)
)
)
Net8 is a part of Oracle that is very confusing to me. I don't really understand what pertains to listener and what to tnsnames.ora.
