Babelfish translastion software cracks me up: According to Information's provided by one dBa, it would be necessary to pass to the fields of the TANK type in VARCHAR 2 during a migration of ORACLE 7 worms ORACLE 8. Truth or Forgery?? Does Y have to you it other problems of this kind to envisage? Thank you Eric

You should not have to convert CHAR type to VARCHAR2 before a migration from Oracle 7 to Oracle8. As far as I know, Oracle 8 treats CHAR the same way as Oracle 7.
