Mike,
Could you please clarify what operating systems you migrate from/to ? We are soon to begin a large hardware migration effort from Sun 32bit and DecAlpha 64 bit to a consolidated HP 64 bit platform. Most all servers have Oracle and one has 1.2 terabytes of data. Oracle states that our only 'supported' option is to import/export, but can't afford the downtime w/ 1.2 TB. We plan on testing ftp, copy and tape restores, but would appreciate any insight/input from your migration experience.
