W95 client install woes

I am trying to (re)- install Oracle 8 client for W95 (as included with the Netware 4.2 package) .

The install proceeds and crashes MCVCRT40 after installing a lot of files. (repeatable after cold or warm boot)

W95 OSR2.5 64M K6-2 233mhz

Any ideas?
