We use Cold Fusion with an Ora 8.1.5 DB to do document management on NT 4.0. To keep things simple, we simply store the images on the NT file system and reference them by full pathnames stored in tables on the DB.

I considered using package DBMS_LOB to process the images in/out of the DB, but could not see that the effort would result in a better web app.
