Newbie Connectivity options

I would like to know what options are available for connecting a VB client to a Oracle database running on Windows NT other than using an ODBC connection. We are currently using a product called Simba ODBC.

The advantage of using Simba is that you can manage the tnsnames.ora file on a server and not have to reload it on the clients every time it changes. The disadvantage is that it is really slow. Maybe a local tnsnames and ODBC would be faster or some kind of API library would provide a faster more direct connection. Any advice would be appreciated. Received on Thu Dec 23 1999 - 09:58:15 CST
