Hey All!

I am studying for the SQL-PL/SQL OCP exam.

I have a question regarding the use of sequences to generate primary keys.

On page 162 of the OCP Application Developer Guide it addresses the use of sequences to generate primary keys:
"This task is common in situations where the primary key is not important to use for accessing data to store in a table."

What are they talking about? I get the second part about the inherit crypticness of a sequence number as a PK but the first point has me boggled.

Thanks
