Re: Migrating from Oracle 7.3.4.4 to 8.x

Running the enterprise manager is a choice which is up to you. It ships with some editions of Oracle and you can ask for it with other editions. It should be installed in a separate Oracle home from the Oracle server. It's entirely optional but it does have some convenient features.
