Problem Description

You want to install Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition into an Oracle Home in which Some Oracle products are already installed. When you run the installer, you immediately see the following error message:

"This program has performed an illegal operation, and will be shut down."

The details are:

"Orainst caused an invalid page fault in module OIBKND32.DLL at 0137:00E1ACD1." The installer then closes.

Search words: olapclnt, oeo, installation, sharing, oracle homes

Solutions and References:

REPLACE OIBKND32.DLL WITH VERSION FROM CLIENT CD Solution Description

Replace the old version of OIBKND32.DLL in the ORANT\Bin directory with the new version off the client cd, dated 6/25/98. (You can rename the old one as OIBKND32.OLD, and copy the new one in.) Reboot the PC, and run the install again.
