A copy of this was sent to Kenneth C Stahl <BlueSax_at_Unforgettable.com> (if that email address didn't require changing) On Tue, 16 Nov 1999 08:12:50 -0500, you wrote:

SVRMGR> show parameter job_queue

NAME                                TYPE    VALUE
----------------------------------- ------- ------------------------------
job_queue_interval                  integer 30
job_queue_keep_connections          boolean TRUE
job_queue_processes                 integer 3

yours will probably have a processes = 1.

depending on release you can:

alter system set job_queue_processes = 0;

and then fix up your init.ora so it remains at 0 with the next reboot (the snp process will go away, give it a little time).

with earlier releases you will have to change the init.ora and then restart the database for this to take effect.
