I installed Oracle 8 onto Linux (Suse 6.2 with glibc 2.1 and so on) Started database - all ok
Applied patch.
Now nothing works - all programs seg fault

Looking in the bin directory the executables seem a lot smaller than the original ones ie

test [oracle_at_juliet bin]$ ll lsn*
-rwsr-s--x 1 oracle dba 206588 Nov 8 19:42 lsnrctl
-rwxr--r-- 1 oracle dba 4425001 Jun 11 12:42 lsnrctl.pre-81501
test [oracle_at_juliet bin]$

I spooled the patch process to a file and checked it but nothing seems to have gone wrong.

My existing 8.0.5 Database runs fine

(8i was installed into its own Oracle Home)

Ideas anyone ?
