I am not sure if the TNSnames.ora is correct or not, But it loads the same on ever other machine and works fine.

Any other help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the sqlnet was installed. It is installed as part of a DOD program called ABSS. I ghave looked at it, But I am not an Oracle expert and the ABSS helpdesk at Eglin AFB, do not know what the problem is either.

I have pinged the host which is ABSS.andrews.af.mil, which is the server where the database is kept.
