Re: 8i on RH Linux: new user cannot sign on SQL*Plus

Thanks for the helpful hints, all. They helped with other problems.

What fixed this one was finally being able to download the 8.1.5.0.1 patch. For some reason I hadn't been able to get it for days and days --
I would click on the link and I'd get an error page from Oracle.

All is working now.
