I am in search of an experienced Oracle DBA for a high quality company in southern California. The client is implementing Oracle applications and is planning extensive projects in web applications development.

Location: Glendale, CA
Rate: 85k-100k base salary (DOE).

EDUCATION: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum 2-4 years of experience in database management and design
using Oracle applications on SUN/OS Solaris or NT operating systems. Understanding and management of databases to optimize performance and growth management. Expertise in data protection techniques and data recovery methods as well as systems analysis methodologies.
· Good technical skills in understanding and designing object databases
using Oracle application on SUN/OS Solaris or NT operating systems. Good knowledge of Oracle development tools.
· Experience in developing data warehouses and datamarts. Good
understanding of star and snowflake database design and trade-offs of each. Knowledge and understanding of data extracts, data cleansing and metadata creation required.
· Experience providing technical expertise to developers, design and
implement support tools. Expert problem solving skills.
· Client/Server: Application development in PowerBuilder or
SilverStream or Net Dynamics or Kiva Soft or using Oracle forms, Oracle Web Server, Developer 2000.
· Operating Systems: Microsoft NT, Sun Solaris or HP Unix
· Databases: Oracle RDBMS Ver 7.3 or Ver 8, Microsoft SQL Server or
Sybase SQL Server or Sybase SQL anywhere
· Languages: PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, Java, `C`, or C++, PL/SQL,
JavaScript, Pearl, HTML
· Good understanding of Software Engineering Methodology, Joint
Application and Rapid application development Methodologies.
· Problem solving and creativity
· Good knowledge of relational DBMS design principles, Oracle database
design, a data dictionary package, Oracle forms and PL/SQL
· Strong inter-personal & communication skills.
