This is my personal opinion :

-Don't try to compare apples to oranges, but eat both.
-Above 10.000 records, forget Access for the backend.
-You can use Oracle on the backend and Access on the client. This
gives you the best of both. Oracle client tools like Developer etc. are not well suited for entry level programming. -Try Visual Foxpro 6.0 on the client once you have grown out of Access on the client side programming.
