Yield Paramter

Does anyone out there know what the "Yield" Parameter does within the Oracle.ini file found
on my Oracle Client machine.
I'm told it controls the wait mode for processes under NT waiting for a response from the database server.
The NT system in question is actually running Windows Terminal Server and is handling 40-50 users all accessing
Forms 4.5
