Certainly. There are three different tracks. The one I'm starting the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Application Developer track. It has five exams.

1.)  SQL & Intro to PL/SQL.        \
                                                          ====  The first is and
the second I think is also part of DBA
2.)  PL/SQL.                                   /

3.) Forms I

4.) Forms II

5.) Reports.

There is also the DBA track and the DBO (O for operator) track. Go to http://www.education.oracle.com/ or if that url is wrong go to: http://www.oracle.com/ for more information.

I think if you can call yourself an OCP in the app dev or the dba track, you should have little problem getting a job.

I'ld say none are needed but it might help to know others. A theme I am seeing farily often is mainframe shops switching over to AIX/Oracle platforms. So knowing some mainframe stuff (e.g. COBOL, IMS, FOCUS etc) might help in aiding conversions. Received on Tue Aug 31 1999 - 01:17:29 CDT
