I am trying to locate a mystery background program (probably spawn by a schedular of some sort) that is running away with enormous amount of archive disk (60MB per min for 2 hours every Saturday).

I looked into v$session in the midst of it and found the following unknown entries:
(1) \ORANT\agentbin\dbsnmpj.exe schema DBSNMP
(2) \ORANT\bin\SVRMGR23.EXE schema SYS
(3) an unknown program but with logon time continuously changing

I have no idea what the job is trying to do except guessing that it's probably doing some intense table analysis or replicating tables into a testing environment.

Now the questions, if they are making any sense:

Which is scheduling which? Is DBSNMPJ.EXE an oracle product or 3rd party? How, if it's possible, to find the script/SQL statements being called upon? Any expert opinion on how to approach this?

All response appreciated! and thanks in advance! Received on Sat Aug 14 1999 - 13:30:00 CDT
