Re: Oracle 8.0.5 on Sparc Solaris 7?

Regarding my problems with Oracle database instantiations hanging up under Solaris 7, here's my experiences:

8.0.5 on Solaris 2.5.1, four different machines, no problem
8.0.5 on Solaris 7 (aka Solaris 2.7), hangs up
8.0.5.1.0 on Solaris 7 (patch from Oracle Metalink site), hangs
8.1.5 on Solaris 7, works (hurrah!)

FWIW, the 8.0.5 CD was labelled for Solaris 2.x copyright 1998 The 8.1.5 CD was labelled for Solaris 2.6 copyright 1999
