I was wondering if someone could tell me if you can do this... Specs: Oracle 8, HP-UX

Let's say you have an Online Oracle backup on tape. All you have are the online backup files. Your box get's blown up. You get a new box and configure all the mount points the same way. However your full backup tape has been destroyed as well.

The question:
So can you reinstall Oracle 8 onto the new box and just replace the Online Oracle Backup files from tape to the box, start Oracle, and everything work and be there as before?

Thanks for any info.
