IMHO if someone is contemplating an alternative to a mainframe platform, then the database is not small, in terms of GB, complexity, design or content. Of course, there are 'mission-critical' databases which are small, but the object of the post (I believe) was to establish when people stopped using NT for 'serious (non-mainframe) projects' i.e those where the size, number of users and complexity are all 'large'.
