Cascade Deletes

Is there anything that would cause referential integrity constraints
specifically ON DELETE CASCADE) in Oracle 8.04 not to work properly?  I
imported a table dump from  a 7.1 NT database into a 8.04 NT database and
the referential integrity constraints do not cascade deletes.  The
referential integrity is working properly in 7.1
