I've downloaded and installed two of these in the past but now with jdbc80406-sol.zip I've lost the plot.

I'm getting "directory checksum error" from tar. The i[gnore] option that is supposed to suppress this doesn't help. All copies done in binary mode, I haven't corrupted it. I have 3128148 bytes. I vaguely recall tar is fussy about the order of options, but I've tried tar xif ifx ixf tif etc etc to no avail.

Its definitely not a compressed file despite the zip suffix (od -c shows full of ASCII, and looks vaguely like a tar file format. And neither uncompress, gunzip or Winzip 32 wants to know about it...thought I'd try just in case )

Nobody else has had this problem (going by dejanews) so I must have lost my marbles.

Heeelp ! I'm desparate. What did I do right those last two times ;-) !!!

If replying by email please just use compobs@...etc

Cheers
