Try http://www.openlinksw.com/info/docs/rel3doc/unix/odbcsdk.htm#config for setting up client-side Linux data sources. General docs can be found from:
Products - Online Documentation - Driver Suite ver 3.0

You need the request broker and database agents on the server side, while you just need the ODBC driver on the client side. Email technical.support_at_openlinksw.com if you have further questions.
