Hi everybody,

According to Oracle's Year 2000 compliance whitepaper (dated May 12, 1999) all versions of Oracle7 from 7.1 and higher are compliant . However, it's noted that this compliance information relates to the server only.

This leaves me with two problems:

Oracle 7.3.2.3.0 and 7.3.3.0.0 are supposedly compliant, but what does this actually mean for the rest of the server installation ? What is included in this "server only" compliance ?

My second problem relates to SQL* Net. In the whitepaper it says that SQL* Net 2.3.4 and higher are compliant. The Client I have is not compliant, so I'll have to upgrade, but will a new client work with the "old" servers ? Isn't SQL* Net used both on the server and client side ? Is the SQL* Net listed in their whitepaper for the server or the client ? (I'm pretty confused)

Any suggestions ?

Sincerely,
